2008 will bring together Rath Racing and Polaris with the announcement of the Factory Polaris WPSA MX and QTC Team. WPSA will be going to the gate with a brand new team and a whole new roster of drivers. Rath Racing has taken pride in the amount of support that they provide their drivers for the last few years and 2008 will be no exception.
With as active as they have been in the industry, from youth to Pro, it really only made good business and ethical sense to field their own "factor-backed" team while continuing to support other drivers. Rath Racing has hooked up with Polaris for the 2008 WPSA season to showcase this new Factory Team (along with a few other events). Darryl Rath had previously raced for Polaris and was impressed by their enthusiasm when they initially approached him about the merger. "Polaris is a company with a new sport quad that is serious about racing. After a few meetings with them I realized that with both engineering and marketing involved with this racing effort, their long-term race plans and with my years of experience, I knew we could build a winning team," said Rath. Polaris is equally thrilled about the venture. Justin Burke, of Polaris ATV Marketing states, "Polaris is extremely excited to be bringing Rath aboard for 2008. It is our first full effort in the WPSA and Daryl brings a ton of experience and success with him." And with Jennifer Rath stepping into the position of Race Team Manager, this is sure to be one exciting year for the WSPA. She had this to say about the new roster of drivers, "I wanted to take some riders that showed the same love, dedication and passion for racing that we have, and build a strong team around that." |
