2008 Yamaha Raptor 250

The 2008 Yamaha Raptor 250 bursts onto the trails with a whole new design concept with performance and speed at the forefront. Boasted as the lightest sport ATV ever made, the Raptor is designed for those who want quick acceleration and response out of their recreational quad. Yamaha completely built this one from the ground up after their Blaster series was discontinued due to EPA emissions restrictions. But now with a four-stroke lightweight 249cc engine, aluminum chassis, and a chain drive, this nimble ATV not only passes and sets new standards for design, it screams sleek and menacing with a sharp look all its own.

With the touch of a button, the Raptor 250 roars to life. The air-cooled 249cc motor gives you more speed without the added weight, and a five-speed gearbox with a manual clutch and chain-and-sprockets system is a first in its class. The 29mm Mikuni carburetor mixes fuel with air, giving you great throttle response, while a ceramic composite cylinder liner keeps the heat to a minimum.

The double-wishbone front suspension gives you 7.5 inches of travel, while the rear is built on a swingarm with a single adjustable preload for 7.9 inches of travel. Low seating provides comfort for any size driver and the high-tensile steel chassis affords less weight and better acceleration. Front and rear hydraulic disc brakes mean stopping on a dime, with light-weight aluminum Dunlop tires for responsive handling and traction on rough terrain.

The Raptor 250 comes in many looks, from an orange and black color scheme, red and grey, to a more classic blue or a completely customizable black. The quad is designed for easy maintenance, with a removable air filter on the carburetor and a completely detachable body. This mean-looking speed machine is a treat for recreational sports quad riders and ATV enthusiasts.
