2008 Yamaha YFZ450

The 2008 Yamaha YFZ450 is the lightest, most powerful ATV ever built. Its 449cc liquid-cooled, DOHC four-stroke engine is an absolute monster, with five titanium valves featuring 95mm bore and 63.4mm stroke to deliver incredible speed and acceleration. Combine the massive power with a dry weight of 350 pounds, and the Yamaha YFZ450 has the best power-to-weight ratio on the market today.

Weight is saved through a variety of engineering innovations. The engine features a magnesium cylinder head cover, a right-side crankcase cover, a smaller cam chain tensioner and oil pump, an aluminum oil hose, and a light CDI ignition unit. It all adds up to significantly reduce the overall weight. The engine also carries oil in an aluminum tank that's perfectly placed in front for remarkable cooling and added protection from damage. The same safety precautions are seen in the large-capacity radiator, which is carefully mounted in the frame for protection.

As part of the impressive design, the YFZ450 also boasts a clutch lever with oversized barrel adjuster, meaning no tools are needed to adjust the play between the lever and cable. The high-tensile steel frame has a fully adjustable suspension, giving it incredible handling and performance.

The YFZ450 doesn't skimp on style, either. Its sharp angles and aggressive lines will turn heads in either Yamaha Team Blue/White or Gray/Red color schemes. It's a tremendous package of style, speed, and performance for a suggested retail price of $7,099.
