When it comes to ATV racing, a lot can depend on the person you have sitting in the driver's seat. At least that's Yahama's theory, as they are excited to have added Ryan Lancaster to their 2008 factory racing roster.
The 20-year-old Lancaster has a lot to offer, according to Yamaha Motor Australia, and that is why they are willing to fully support what will soon be one of the new faces of racing. Lancaster has only been racing ATVs since he was 17, but in those few short years he has come light years in his knowledge and experience. He started his career placing in the Top Five of race events, and soon was taking regular trips to the podium. However, it hasn't been all glory for Lancaster, either. He has had his share of injuries and set backs since he began to be noticed in the racing world. In 2006 a shoulder injury kept him out of the hunt for a national title, and caused him to battle back for the 2007 season. After stellar victories over the course of the season it seemed that finally a national championship would be his for the taking, until another accident nearly knocked him out of the competition in the very first race. Taking it all in stride, however, Lancaster fought back again and managed to come within a couple of points of the title in 2007. Because he is able to bring successes out of failures, Yahama Motor Australia is proud to have added this rising race superstar to their team and is looking forward to another successful season in 2008. |
