Within the last two years an exciting sports event is rivaling motocross freestyle cycling. ATV freestyle is a fascinating and spectacular display of quad rider stunts and tricks. These ATV stunts rival the display and repertoire of freestyle motocross cycling. Already proven in a spectacular display of skill, talent, and steel nerves was a back-flip performed by Jon Guetter.
There are now an increasing number of shows that highlight displays of ATV freestyle. The ATVA National Motocross Series now includes ATV freestyle shows included in the event. These events feature some of the most talented ATV freestylers in the world. Scheduled for feature at an upcoming ATVA Motocross event in Aug, 2009 at Hurricane Mills, TN at Loretta Lynn’s ranch, will include an ATV freestyle event.
Some of the death and gravity defying stunts include the “Jack Hammer” performed by Derek Guetter, with his entire body extended above the handlebars only holding on by the tips of his boots. Another mind numbing stunt is a signature trick by Caleb Moore who launches his ATV off a ramp into a nose up position then extends his body into a vertical handstand on the handlebars.
There are two video companies that produce ATV freestyle videos, H-Bomb Films and Huevos Videos. An ATV freestyle team has been organized by the H-Bomb Films company called the Bomb Squad. These are composed of ATV freestyle stunt riders that perform their own unique stunts for the films. Some H-Bomb sample trailers can be found at hbombfilms.com.
