ATV riding provides recreation, entertainment, and fun for the outdoor enthusiast. They are also good for farm, agriculture and normal everyday work related and pleasure activities. Virtually every state offers ATV trail rides and off road riding. Parks and recreation facilities offer fun and recreation for the entire family. Rules and regulations must be observed, and strictly enforced, to be able to keep these riding facilities open for public use.
Some of the rules associated with trail riding are to stay only on the roads, trails, and the areas that are designated for ATV use. Do not stray off course and try to go your own way. Avoid mud slinging at other riders with your ATV and do not litter. You should make sure you are wearing a helmet and safety gear. Wheelies, ramp jumping, and side riding, are some of the tricks and stunts being performed on ATV's.
Keeping your ATV clean and free of mud build up is very important for the life of the ATV. Mud build up, after long periods of time will cause the ATV to start rusting due to excessive moisture. A great tip for ATV without grease fittings is to purchase fittings and install them yourself. This saves wear and tear on the ball joints that tend to wear out first, due to excessive use and steering. Taking the time to do a little preventative maintenance will save breakdowns and make your ATV run and last longer. If you are not skilled at doing minor upgrades or changeovers to better the ATV, ask a skilled mechanic for help, or an ATV dealer.
