In recent years ATV racing quads have become quite a sport. It has been around for some time now, but now can be watched on different sports channels, if you subscribe to those in your cable sports package, as well as ESPN. Racing was once dominated by off road motorcycles, but not so much anymore. Their spotlight is shared with the atvs.
Seems like you used to go to the county fair and all they had was motorcycle racing and demolition derby. Now atv racing is quite popular and a very big event. The main styles of atvs are from Honda, Yamaha, Kawasaki, and Suzuki. Brands like KTM, Polaris, and Bombardier have gotten into the mix as well. KTM, Polaris, and Bombardier have been around just not so much in the racing scene.
Some of the top ten race quads on the market today are Polaris Predator 500, Yamaha Banshee 660R Raptor, Bombardier DS650 Baja, Suzuki Quadracer 450, Kawasaki KFX 700V Force, Polaris Outlaw, Honda EX, Cannondale Cannibal, Kawasaki KFX450R, and Yamaha Wolverine 450. Of course it will depend where you go on which brand you may see racing because the most popular still remain Honda, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Yamaha.
Different quads are raced all around the world. There are different classes of events. Racers have different quads with different engines and depending on the track they ride would depend on the quad they ride. If they go to a track that is needed for acceleration and horsepower they'll probably bring one with a bigger engine and a little more heavy. If they have a track with a lot of hills and turns they'll probably ride something light and quick. Something in the class of a 450cc engine.
